Many people try to shed off those extra unwanted pounds in order for them to achieve the figure that most members of society covet. For this, different market forces have created strategies such as workout routines and diet pills which alter the stomach’s appetite so that the person taking the pill would not feel hunger and feel full after only eating a small portion of food. But, for those who do not want increase their physical activity while at the same time fear the side-effects of medication, dieting may be the perfect solution. Now if you look at countries like France where people are generally slim, one dietary strategy is actually stirring the waves: the Dukan diet.

The Dukan diet, for starters, was actually created by a French physician named Pierre Dukan and was introduced more than a decade ago. A book was actually published in honor of this strategy and it claims that it has already helped more than five million people in France alone to achieve their dream bodies.
Unlike any other diets which count the calorie intake of every food you eat, the Dukan diet does not weigh anything you eat. Additionally, it will not disallow you to eat at any part of the day. This means that you can eat anything you want, anytime you want, as long as you make sure that the food that you eat is considered to be lean protein. Well, at least initially.

As a matter of fact, the intake of protein is the diet’s fundamental principle especially since that high-protein intake will likely mean that you are losing much of the original calorie count in your previous eating pattern. Aside from protein, the diet introduces a lot of water and oat bran intake. This is finished by a mandatory twenty-minute walk which, by the way, is very easy to fulfill compared to hardcore exercise routines that other diets require you to do. After completing the initial phase, you will be encouraged to eat other vegetables as well as relatively small amounts of whole grains and fruits.

If you think that the Dukan diet requirements ring a bell, it is probably because the requirements are a bit similar with the Atkins diet, which for a time, was also a fad in the western world. What happens in the end is that the dieters rapidly lose weight which can be as much as one to two pounds in a day. This sounds unbelievable to a lot of people, but there are millions who would attest that their sexy and slim figures were largely because of the diet in itself. If you think that it is a tough path to take, remember that beauty comes with a price. For what it is worth most people who undertook the diet says that the hunger and the desire to consume more food disappeared on the third day.

So, if you want an effective means to achieve that figure you’ve always dreamed of, now may be the best time to try the Dukan diet.
